My two-cent review of Red Velvet’s “Perfect Velvet”

As the title states.

Peek-a-boo: Totally a bop. You either like it or you’re gonna like it later.
Look: At first I was like damn, we doing synth? But this track is actually lit.
I Just: Took time to grow on me, but it did. (See: Peek-a-boo.) Interesting to hear RV take on a breakup song for once.
Kingdom Come: 10/10 right here. One of the best on the album.
My Second Date: Not too fond tbh. Cute lyrics, but a touch too Red for a Velvet-based album.
Attaboy: Also not crazy ’bout it. Neither beats nor their vocal skills are really put to shine here.
Perfect 10: If we’re dating and you don’t wanna slow grind to this, not only am I dismissing you, I’m waxing your edges off because clearly you don’t need them.
About Love: This is ridiculously sweet. A soft ‘n’ peppy love song to balance out the sultriness of “Perfect 10” and the stormy tone of “Kingdom Come”.
Moonlight Melody: I consider this the ‘cold weather’ counterpart of “Hear the Sea” from The Red Summer, which is a favorite. Perfect album closing, smooth like a lullaby.

Damn. I never said anything bad about Joy and I STILL take it back.
